CLEAN UP OF ARCOLA AVENUE
As one fruit of our recent meeting with Father Jack, Saint Andrew Apostle Women’s Ministry joined the Knights of Columbus on Saturday morning, June 25 to clean up Arcola Avenue. The Knights participate in the Montgomery County’s Adopt A Road program that encourages organizations to help keep roadsides litter free. The program’s goal is to have unsightly litter removed from roadsides before it reaches local streams or clogs storm drains that feed into local streams, and potentially into the Potomac and Patuxent Rivers and our water supply.
We are grateful for the dedicated and generous long-term effort of our Knights to preserve the gift of God’s creation, and the opportunity to join them on this day.
We honored Mary in her month of May with Mass followed by breakfast, fellowship, and a talk by Father Canice Enyiaka from the Global Peace Foundation. Father spoke of Our Blessed Mother as a peace builder and reflected on the particular role of women in this, inspiring us to build peace in our homes, families, and communities.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us!
In this guided time of prayer and meditation we focused on the traditional Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving to enter into Lent with Christ. Rose Folsom provided education and inspiration for reflection together in small groups followed by time in personal prayer during Eucharistic Adoration. Information <HERE>.
