Saint Andrew Apostle

Matthew 25 Walk

Saint Andrew Apostle is hosting a charity walk to raise money for three local nonprofit organizations who are living out the values outlined by Christ in Matthew 25: providing food for people who are hungry, drink for people who are thirsty, clothing for people who need clothes, and welcoming strangers.

About the Organizations:

The Food Pantry at Silver Spring Christian Reformed Church, the next-door neighbor to Saint Andrew the Apostle, has a food pantry to serve the needs of our brothers and sisters in our local community. Every $100 donated can buy 50 boxes of tissues, and every $300 donated can buy 150 cans of soup.

The Northwest Center promotes the dignity of women and a respect for all human life by offering the loving support and comprehensive aid necessary to help women continue their pregnancies, deliver healthy babies, and adequately care for themselves and their children. Their maternity home provides housing and other comprehensive assistance to women and their babies. Every $25 donation will cover the cost of diapers and wipes for one baby for one week, and every $100 donation provides life-affirming counseling for three women facing unplanned pregnancies.

Shepherd’s Table is an interfaith nonprofit in Silver Spring that provides basic services including meals, social services, medical support, clothing, and other assistance in an effective and compassionate manner. Every $100 donated will cover the cost of 20 meals.

Would you like to help out? We will need volunteers to help with setup, registration, clean up, and water/snack tables. Just let us know on the signup form.
