“Wisdom is with aged men, with long life is understanding”
The primary mission of St. Andrew, Apostle Seniors’ Group is to provide Social and Spiritual support. We accomplish this through regularly scheduled activities that foster relationships within the senior community. We embrace our diversity and are enthusiastic about participating in Parish activities to the extent we are able.
Monthly First Friday Blessings and Breakfast
On the First Friday of each month (except July and August), after 8:30 Mass there is a Pot Luck Breakfast in the All-Purpose-Room. Through some great good luck, we always manage to have a delicious selection of juices, pastries, fruit, coffee, and on occasion, thanks to volunteer chefs, freshly cooked waffles, French toast, or pancakes.
The Breakfast provides an opportunity to socialize and to get to know fellow parishioners. A feature of the breakfasts has been the “Getting to Know You” series; we have heard from parishioners who: authored a book, worked at MGM studios, is a Grand Master in Karate. Others reported on their travels, including the Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, Oberammergau Passion play, and missionary work in China. An especially delightful treat is having the St. Andrew Kindergarten serenade us.
Trips and Excursions
Bus Trips. Our one-day adventures are often along the road less traveled: paddle-wheel boat tour of the Choptank River, lunch at the Suicide Bridge Restaurant, water taxi from National Harbor to Alexandria, wine tasting at a vineyard; faith oriented tours of: historic churches in Baltimore, Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Grotto of Lourdes, the Franciscan Monastery, and the Shrine of St Anthony.
Car pool trips. When an excursion attracts only a small group, it can be set up as a “Roamers” trip, a carpool of like-minded enthusiasts.

Come Join Us
Do you have an idea for an adventure or a project that you want to share or need help organizing? Come to one of our planning meetings or join us for breakfast so we can talk about it.
We encourage you to join us to help carry out our mission to both spiritually and socially support our parish and fellow parishioners. Email invitations (Evites) are sent as reminders for most of our activities; we would be pleased have you on our email list. Sign up when you come to First Friday Breakfast.
We use the term senior as a generic term not a number. Newcomers whose birthdays include passage to their Second Adulthood (whatever and whenever that may be) are welcome.
Inclement weather policy: If Montgomery County schools are closed due to weather, our activities are cancelled.
St. Camillus Seniors invites us to participate in upcoming events. They are held in the St Camillus Knights of Columbus room. Of particular interest:
