This Respect for Life Feet image was used in all the Parish Spiritual Adoption Program updates on your baby’s development in each church bulletin. On March 25, 2012, the Pro-Life Committee provided a unique and beautiful opportunity for parishoners to pray for an unknown, unborn adopted baby in danger of being aborted. The program duration was from the Feast of the Annunciation to Christmas Day.

Participants of any age simply pledged to say the following soon-to-be-saint Archibishop Fulton Sheen prayer daily for a baby girl or boy that they named during the nine months Jesus also happened to be in the womb: “Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to protect the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of being aborted.” Pledge cards completed during Mass were placed in a basket at the foot of the portrait of Our Lady of Guadalupe that graced our church when the program was launched.

At the end of the non-month period, we will celebrate the birth of our spiritually adopted babies shortly after Christ’s birth at our Pro-Life Spiritual Adoption Welcome Baby Shower after the Epiphany Vigil Mass. Those who could not attend have the option of participating in the Cupcakes for Life events after each Epiphany Sunday mass the following day. There was not cost to participate in any of these events. Thanks to all for participating in helping to defend the sanctity of human life!
