Disaster Aid

In August and September 2017, Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria devastated parts of the Caribbean and Texas. With the full consent of our Parish Clergy, Pastoral Council and tremendous support expressed by our Sunday Mass community, Saint Andrew’s stepped up to this challenge and had a Disaster Relief Collection on November 18 and 19, giving the entire parish collection to the poor who have been affected by these natural disasters.

We reached out parish-to-parish to four communities and donated the funds we collected to help them rebuild their churches, schools, and parish or religious communities, helping in a tangible way to rebuild a city of God. Each community will provide for those suffering with their specific needs of medicine, food, water and supplies. Each of the four sites, in Dominica, Puerto Rico, Texas, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, equally received 25% of the total funds collected.
