Disaster Aid

In August and September 2017, Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria devastated parts of the Caribbean and Texas. With the full consent of our Parish Clergy, Pastoral Council and tremendous support expressed by our Sunday Mass community, Saint Andrew’s will step up to this challenge and have a Disaster Relief Collection on November 18 and 19, giving the entire parish collection to the poor who have been affected by these natural disasters.

We have reached out parish-to-parish to four communities and will donate the funds we collect to help them rebuild their churches, schools, and parish or religious communities, helping in a tangible way to rebuild a city of God. Each community will provide for those suffering with their specific needs of medicine, food, water and supplies. Each of the four sites, in Dominica, Puerto Rico, Texas, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, will equally receive 25% of the total funds collected.

We encourage you to share our initiative with your friends and family and invite them to join you with financial support for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are living in these damaged areas.

Tom Claxton and Rolando DeAlvarez of the Pastoral Council invite you to participate in this mission.

Please make checks payable to Saint Andrew by November 19th, memo line: “Disaster Relief”
