About Us & Who We Support

As we begin the 40th year after Roe v. Wade, we are in the heightened process of actively promoting respect for human life at our parish. Our goal is to offer activities and share resources within several categories that will empower you to truly live the Gospel of Life as Christ intended.

Since the 2012 March for Life, we have modeled our group in accordance with the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Pro-Life pastoral plan recommendations. We have also supported the following local Pro-Life organizations through referrals during prayer vigils outside the Silver Spring Planned Parenthood during and between 40 Days for Life campaigns, collections and sales of Pro-Life items, Community Sundays, our best-ever annual Baby Bottle Drive, and bulletin ads communicating the various needs of each group. Supported Local Pro-Life Groups 2012

We look forward to working with many other groups in 2013, like Isaiah’s Promise, a support group of couragous parents and families who chose to let their babies with known severe or fatal birth defects live as long as God allowed. We look forward to continuing to support causes with other minstries that promote the dignity of marriage as we did during the Same Sex Referendum Petition Drive.

We also look forward to continuing to work with other ministries on other events like the annual March for Life events, the Spiritual Adoption Program, distribution of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts, semi-annual Pro-life masses, and Cupcakes for Life events. We plan develop events that draw attention to End-of-Life issues and to participate and even to host future ADW events at our parish. We encourage you to visit often to remain up-to-date and to receive additional information referenced in church bulletins and pulpit announcements, like upcoming meetings and prayer opportunities like the First Saturday Communion of Reparation of our Lady’s Immaculate Heart. Please join us or send us your questions and comments by contacting us at Lise Baur at lisebaur@verizon.net or 240-426-7524.

May we continue to have the courage to stand up for the unborn. After all, as Father Dan said in his 2012 March for Life Homily (“The Truth of Life”), “if we don’t stand up for Something (Life), we stand for Nothing… because a Church divided (without a unified voice for Life) will fall. Guaranteed.” Please click the following collage for additional information about each picture.
